PSHRE Consultation (for Sep 2026 onwards)
At Holywell Primary School, we are committed to providing a high‑quality, age‑appropriate PSHRE (Personal, Social, Health and Relationships Education) curriculum that supports every child’s personal development, wellbeing and understanding of the world around them. In line with national expectations and the Department for Education’s guidance on curriculum transparency and parental engagement, we are entering a period of consultation regarding our updated PSHRE curriculum for September.
From September, we intend to adopt the Jigsaw PSHE Programme, a well‑established, whole‑school approach used widely across the UK. Jigsaw brings together Personal, Social, Health Education, emotional literacy, mindfulness and social skills within a clear, progressive structure from Early Years to Year 6. It is fully aligned with statutory Relationships Education and Health Education requirements.
As part of our consultation process, we will be sending out a link to Google Classroom which will provide you with:
-
An overview of the proposed curriculum and its content.
-
Parent Information Sheet.
-
Sample materials
-
DfE's statutory guidance on 'Relationships Education, Relationships & Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education' "2025).
-
A narrated presentation providing further information with regard to the curriculum and statutory changes.
This consultation ensures that our community is informed, involved and confident in the curriculum we deliver. As a result, we will be using the next three weeks (until Friday 3rd July) to invite feedback and questions.
Once the consultation period is complete, we will publish the finalised curriculum overview and any updates on this page.
If you would like additional information about Jigsaw or the statutory requirements for PSHRE, please contact the school office or Mrs Warner (PSHRE Lead).
